Bucharest, August 18, 2010 – The last week before the VAT increase, the most remarkable raise in sales for the entire 2010 In the second quarter of 2010 both retailers and manufacturers took advantage of the recent events - such as FIFA World Cup and increase of VAT to 24% - managing once again to boost the sales. Seen at a global market level, the increase of 1,3% is not spectacular, however it points out once again the success of promotional activities when it comes to TV products.

GfK TEMAX® Romania for the second quarter of 2010
Bucharest, August 16 2010 – The decline of the Romanian technical consumer goods market decelerated in the second quarter of 2010, decreasing by 15% compared with the same period last year. However, it should be noted that the overall value is less than in the first quarter and with the VAT increase active as of 1st July, the negative trend may be set to continue.

Over three quarters of Romanian pay their bills at the supplier’s counter
Bucharest, July 16th, 2010 - In June 2010, GfK Romania made an Omnibus study that surveyed payment methods preferred by the Romanians for bills that are paid in the household or individually. The most commonly used method remains the direct one, at the supplier’s counter, 77% of the people between 18 and 65 dealing with the household bills payment resorting to it. Other methods used are: payment at the Post office (39% of respondents) and the bank tellers (25%). Only 5% of those dealing with the payment of the bills in the family use the ATMs for payments, and 2% use the Internet banking services. 11% of respondents use the payment through the available services in the shops or petrol stations.

72% of the dissatisfied customers share their negative opinion to others
Bucharest, July 12, 2010 – The results of the most recent omnibus survey conducted by GfK Romania shows that in the last half year, one third of the Romanian came into direct contact with telephony, Internet or TV services providers, calling or passing the threshold of their shops.
